Are You Interested or Committed to Achieving Your Goals & Dreams?

Determination for Achieving Goals and Dreams

"There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in something, you do it only when it's convenient; when you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.”

- Ken Blanchard

What would a magnificent life for you look like, feel like, sound like, smell like?

Dream big, bold & outside of the box. Are you someone who is interested or committed? "I'm someone who is Interested" my question here would be, would your life change.

"I'm someone who is committed" think of the result you will gain.

'Success' many people think that success looks like a straight line, but is it really. As the path to success comes with confusion, fears, doubts, failures, mistakes, obstacles, difficulties & so much more.

Is success really a straight line?

Take a look back in history

  • Albert Einstein was unable to speak until the age of four.

  • Thomas Edison, his teachers told him he was "too stupid to learn anything".

  • Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper for "lack of imagination" and having "no original ideas"

  • Steve Jobs at the age of 30 was left devastated and depressed as he was unceremoniously removed from the company he stated.

  • Micheal Jordan was cut from his basketball team for "a lack of skill".

We can tell that each of these individuals was not only interested but committed from the result they had to achieve in life.

Growing up I was someone who had many limiting beliefs

"You can never achieve that because"

"Don't dream big, as it will never come true"

"My life will never change or get better"

Feeling unworthy and undeserving of anything good in life, unsupported, I didn't believe in a good life. As I experienced emotional, mental, and later on physical abuses, low self-worth, low self-esteem, confidence and so much more.

Until came across this life-changing video of John Assaraf on the Impact Theory,

A huge inspiration !! that brought me to the path of commitment.

How to Upgrade Your Mindset in 46 Minutes - John Assaraf

Are You Committed or interested he asked?

Here is the question to really consider asking yourself, that John Assaraf's first mentor Alan Brown asked John which turned the trajectory of his life around.

"Are you interested in or are you committed to achieving these goals and living the life of your dreams?"

"Uh....man. I don't...well, what's the differences?"

Interested

  • You'll do what's convenient and easy

  • You'll come up with stories excuses of why you can't

  • You'll allow your past or present circumstances to control what you think and do.

  • You won't be willing to go through the discomfort of change - because you change is absolutely required if you are serious about breaking free from your current beliefs, habits, and results

Committed

  • You'll do whatever it takes.

  • You'll take action in spite of your doubts and fears

  • You'll upgrade your knowledge, your skills, and your belief system of what is possible for you to achieve

  • If you are seriously committed. you'll let go of anything holding you back.

My journey to taking on commitment as enough really was enough.

Many years ago, I went to seek help from a doctor. antidepressants, here you go.

To having a REACTION, thinking I was superwoman, wanting to fly out of a window.

I went back to the doctor I was given another set of tablets, in return,

I asked the Doctor:

"What is the likely hood that I would get of these tablets, and not be depressed?" "You will always be depressed, and always be on these tablets"

As I walked out of the room I never looked back:

I was not depressed. 'YES', I had low self-worth, esteem, confidences, experience trauma such as my mum trying to kill herself when I was younger, experiences mental, emotional abuses, had many fears, limiting beliefs and so much more.

However, I was able to overcome all of these by being committing, I didn't know how I was going to change my life, but I have been able to beyond words.

To know living happy, fulfilled, purposeful life, doing more of what I love each day, to growing and evolving each day, to be in harmony with the true me.

By committing to do WHATEVER it takes no matter what!
