"When you React, you are giving away your power. When you Respond, you are staying in control of yourself" ~ Bob Proctor
The law of polarity states that everything in this universe has an equal yet polar opposite. Stress vs Calm. Stop vs Action. Sad vs Happy. I can't vs I can. Blame vs Release. Problem vs Solution.
Respond or React
Are you a responder or reactor? How aware are you of your thoughts, feelings, emotions & actions?
Which side are you running on - Stress vs Calm. Stop vs Empowering actions. Sad vs Happy. I can't vs I can. Blame vs Release. Problem vs Solution.
Before you decide to quit - What if you were in a calm state, wouldn't that make a different. Before you out bursted on someone else - What if you was able to flip the switch.
Before giving your energy to a problem - What If you could be aware of the problem, and put your energy on to finding a solution instead.
For most my life I was someone who was a big reactor, unable to manage my disempowering thoughts, feelings, emotions & actions (which where beneath my current level of awareness) meaning - I don't know 'why'.
"I should have thought, before I acted". "I don't why I feel down, but I do".
"I don't know why I acted like that; but I did"
How you ever been in a "I don't know why" situation. What if there was a way forward.
Think Before You Act
What if I told you there was a way to be more at Choice. To Respond vs React.
Think of a time when you was actually stopped before you acted. In a moment of angry. A moment of sadness. A moment of fear or doubt, worry or stress.
Would it not be great to be able to create a shift. To be more at choice. To be in charge of you. Here is a great technique that John Assaraf shares - Helping many including me, and this can include you too !! Are you ready to create to be more at choice in your life.
AIA - Awareness, Intention, Action ("Eye-Ya") Johns Book ‘INNERCISE’
Whenever you are feeling stressed, anxious, worried, unhappy, resentful, angry, or disappointed with any result or situation, pause and first do Innercise
AIA ( Awareness, Intention, Action)
'Take 6: Calm the Circuits'
Take six deep rhythmic breaths in through your mouth, like you are blowing out of a straw.
As you breathe in, say,
I breathe in calmness, I breathe out stress.
I breathe in calmness, I breathe out fear.
I breathe in calmness, I breathe out anxiety, or overwhelm.
Next, do Innercise AIA ( Awareness, Intention, Action) :
In a calm, relaxed frame of mind (As you gently breathe in and out), be aware of your physiology, your mental and emotional state, and the behavior you are engaged in.
Next, ask yourself, "What is my intention for this moment?"
Is it to be angry? Sad? Mad or frustrated. Or to be calm and respond instead of reacting?
Once you choose your intention, take one small, simple action step towards achieving your goal.
Allowing you to regain control... Instead of being in an automatic reactive state, the more you practice the more you can be in a pro-active state
"Awareness is what gives you choice, and choice is what give you freedom." JA
