"Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers."
– John Maxwell
Your questions have power. You read that right!
But are you asking the RIGHT questions?
What questions are you asking? As they hold incredible power.
Every time you speak, every time you ask, you are seeking—whether it's something empowering or disempowering in your life.
Have you ever stopped to think about the questions you ask yourself daily? Are they empowering you or holding you back?
Think about it: how often do you catch yourself asking, "Why does this always happen to me?" or "What's wrong with me?" or “Why is my life so challenging?” or “Why do others seem to achieve way more than me?”
What came next after you asked? Did you see the good in your life, or did life seem to bring you more of what you don’t want?
You see, my friend, each time you speak or ask a question, you are planting seeds in the fertile soil of your mind. What are you asking every day, and what truths are you speaking into your life?
Pause and truly think about it: are your questions lifting you up or dragging you down, focusing on the negative or the empowering, the good or the bad, the happy or the sad?
If you’re tired of running in the loop of what no longer serves you, change your questions and watch your life transform. Here’s exactly where to start—change your questions to change your destiny.
Flip Your Questions
Swap limiting questions swap them for empowering ones:
Instead of asking, “Why can’t I do this?”
try, “How can I make progress?”
Instead of, “Why does this always happen to me?”
try, “What lessons have I learned to move forward?”
Instead of, “What’s wrong with me?”
try, “What is right with me?”
Instead of, “Why is my life so challenging?”
try, “How has my life improved?”
Instead of, “Why do others achieve more than me?”
try, “How can I be better than the person I was yesterday?”
See the difference? Flipping your questions can have a profound impact on your life. But don’t get me wrong—it’s not about practicing once; it’s about pausing and practicing daily, time and time again. Why? Because your life depends on it. If you keep repeating the same old questions, where will that lead you? But when you start replacing them with new empowering questions, imagine where that could take you.
The choice is yours: you can make a committed decision to flip your script, or you can keep replaying the same old stories and questions in your life.
Shift Your Focus with Questions!
Have you ever heard the saying, "Where attention goes, energy flows"?
Whatever you focus on is what grows.
For many years, I, like many others, used to focus on the problems and challenges in my life:
"They don’t care about me" led to attracting unfulfilling relationships.
"I am worthless" led to feeling worthless.
"I am a nobody" led to feeling like a nobody.
"I hate what I see in the mirror" led to self-harm.
"I will always be rejected" led to continuous rejection.
What are you speaking to yourself daily? Is it lifting you up or dragging you down? Are your questions directing your focus toward problems or possibilities? Toward what you lack or what you have? Toward fear or courage?
For the next 30 days, start your mornings with intentional focus by asking and responding to the following:
"What am I grateful for today?"
"What did I learn yesterday?"
"How will I move forward toward a better version of myself?"
Why? Because whatever you focus on will always grow and expand. So choose to place your energy and attention on things that will help you grow and evolve, instead of keeping you stuck. Start today.
Dive Deeper with Your Questions
Facing a challenge in your life right now? Don’t settle for surface-level understanding. Use the power of questions to dive deeper. When confronted with a challenge, don’t just ask, "What should I do?" Go deeper:
“What’s really causing this?”
“What patterns can I identify?”
“What beliefs or assumptions am I holding that might be contributing to this?”
“How can I move forward today?”
“Who do I choose to become today?”
“What can I learn here?”
Why? Because each question leads to an answer, and asking the right questions can serve as a guiding post instead of a stumbling block. Facing a challenge, what empowering question can you ask today to help you move forward?
Flip Your "What If"
"What if" questions have power. They can either hold you back like a prisoner or help you break free from limitations. Think of it this way—someone who sticks with a disempowering "what if" frame versus someone who embraces an empowering one: who will move forward in life?
“What if I lose everything?” or “What if I had unlimited resources?”
“What if I fail?” or “What if I knew I couldn’t fail?”
“What if I’m always stuck?” or “What if the solution is simpler than I think?”
“What if I am hopeless?” or “What if I am hopeful?”
"What if" truly has power, so start using it wisely. What new "what if" frame can you start asking in your life today to lift you up instead of dragging you down?
Overcome Limiting Beliefs
We all have limiting beliefs—a mindset that either lifts us up or drags us down. What we ask next makes the difference. What if you could use the power of questions to transform any limiting mindset into personal power and growth? You absolutely can.
Are you asking the right questions?
Turn any limiting belief into empowering questions:
“What would it look like if I could do this?”
“What would I need to believe about myself?”
“What are some of my wins so far?”
“What if I succeed?”
“What if good things did happen in my life?”
“Who do I choose to become?”
“Who can help me here?”
You see, questions have power—they are the answer to anything better you seek in your life. But are you asking the right questions that will move you forward or keep you stuck?
Ask wisely, and the answers and solutions will find their way into your life, instead of problems finding you.
So, I ask you—what powerful question will you ask yourself today? How will you use questions to shape your thoughts, your actions, and ultimately, your life?
The power is in your hands—or rather, in your questions.
The journey to changing your life starts with the questions you ask every day.
So start asking, seeking, and watch your life transform day by day.
